In Years 7 and 8 the pupils have 8 lessons approx 8 hours over the 2 week timetable
The planning is based on the White rose Maths Hub. The planning focuses on the three aspects of the Maths curriculum, Fluency, Problem Solving and Reasoning.
Ks3 use a the MyMaths text book as a supporting resource.
In January 2015 the NCETM gave this guidance of using maths textbooks:
“A high quality mathematics textbook scheme is an educational resource that can be used by pupils both in lessons and independently, and that also provides both subject knowledge and pedagogy support to teachers of mathematics. It is a comprehensive learning tool, providing support for the development of both procedural fluency and conceptual understanding in mathematics.”
Homework is set generally set every Monday and involves a mixture of Ninja Maths, CGP workbooks and MyMaths
