Danesfield Church of England School Living and Learning Together

Curriculum

Vision for Learners

Danesfield values each pupil as an individual through God’s image (Mark 9.37) as a part of our family school. We provide all our children with an engaging, exciting and empowering curriculum that promotes a thirst for learning today and tomorrow.

Curriculum Statement

Danesfield offers a full range of subjects, covered from Years 5 to 8, which promote academic, physical, creative, human, social, cultural, moral and spiritual learning. We encourage our children to give all that they can in everything that they do and help them to understand that failures only bring about learning, which leads to success. Together their talents, however small or large, are nurtured and celebrated.

Our curriculum planning and delivery aims to ensure there is progression in skills and knowledge. It builds on prior learning and makes cross-curricular links, ultimately leading to lifelong learning. Making the most of our staff expertise, specialist teachers are used to maximise the learning experience for both KS2 and KS3. We have high expectations for our children and use a Quality First Learning approach in all lessons. We ensure that learning can be accessed via a variety of differentiation strategies to maximise equal inclusion and participation.

More information can be obtained by speaking to your child's class teacher.
