Play script Study
Ernie's Incredible Illucinations and hyperbole experimentation
Pupils in the spring term apply themselves to the study of play scripts. Specifically, they study Alan Ackbourn's play Ernie's Incredible Illucinations. Pupils also develop the skills to adapt narrative to play script and vice versa. More able pupils will attempt to adapt their own short story from Autumn 2.
The play script unit features a strong emphasis on hyperbolic writing, which pupils both find enjoyable and useful to extend their writing craft.
