War and Conflict
An eclectic study of fiction and non fiction texts grouped on the theme of war and conflict
Pupils begin year 8 by reading, studying and analysing the technique and craft of the author in short and easily accessible extracts. The blend of fiction and non fiction texts encourages pupils to really define the distinctions between styles as well as reflecting upon the viewpoints of those involved in conflicts both past and present. Pupils are encouraged to reflect upon the impact the text has on them as individuals and how that effect was created by the author.
