Journeys
A philosophical unit design to promote the ideas of journeys as emotional, spiritual and social, as opposed to merely physical
Year 8 are now fully embracing the idea of leaving Danesfield for pastures new and this unit is designed to dovetail with the transition process. The texts for reading and studying vary from poetry to prose, fiction and non fiction and promote the notion of the word 'journey' as a form of personal development. Travel writing does form a healthy chunk of the unit and exploration of the self and the wider world is strongly encouraged.
