What happens – Children visit the original ‘Clip ‘n’ Climb’ centre in the UK at Exeter’s Quayside venue. Here they can challenge themselves to a variety of walls and stairs. After a safety briefing and fitting into a safety harness the children are then free to climb any wall of their choosing. Their unique auto-belay system allows children to climb up and abseil back down with ease. The 55-minute session in hectic and fun. Pupils get the whole of the Clip ‘n’ climb section to themselves. There are trained instructors on hand throughout to offer support and guidance. On the way back to school children get to tuck into a take away, usually ‘McDonalds’.
Pupil endorsements: “…I loved the different obstacles to climb up… I’m looking forward to going on the next trip…” from a Year 5 pupils.
What equipment – Children need to wear easy-fitting and comfortable clothing and trainers.
